Biography
Javier Morales Casas (Tolima, Colombia, 1993) is a painter, art researcher and recycler. His subject of study is everyday life in the rural areas of Tolima, a department located in the south of Colombia, both in the north and south of this region. He is interested in intuition as a shared space between visual arts and magical arts, who believes that art is a manifestation of inner existence, a tangible proof of having a soul. As a recycler, he paints on materials he finds on the street, exploring the memory contained in the objects he discovers. He believes that these objects can also observe us.
Currently, he is developing a new pictorial style, a fusion between Haitian Vodou Painting and Colombian Primitivism, which he has called Magical Primitivism.
