Plataforma Residency Program

Plataforma, Contemporary Art was created with the mission of promoting contemporary art in Mexico, with a particular focus on artists from the Pacific Coast, especially in Jalisco. Platforma presents itself as an artistic convergence point that fosters national and international connections, seeking to be an art center where both established and emerging artists can dialogue and collaborate with invited international curators.

As part of its Residency Program, Plataforma selects two emerging visual artists to undertake a 5-month residency, aimed at developing an artistic project that involves research and experimental production related to the social, political, and aesthetic context of Guadalajara and the artist's place of residence.

The residence includes:

  • Economic stimulus for materials and/or travel expenses.

  • Access to a mentorship program with curators and invited artists.

  • Use of the residency spaces at Plataforma and at the Suro Ceramic Factory.

  • Linkage with artisanal workshops within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (costs covered by the residency stipend).

Residents will primarily work in the workshops of Plataforma, Contemporary Art, located on the 3rd floor, but they will also be able to link parts of their project with the Suro Ceramic Factory. The residency program lasts for 5 months, from November to March and from May to September.

The stipend will be $50,000 MXN per resident, divided into monthly payments. Applications for the second edition of residencies, from May to September 2025, will be open until March 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Finalists will be contacted for an interview during the second week of April.

We appreciate your interest and participation in the Platforma Residency Program!
