After Darkness
The recent work of Eduardo Sarabia evokes the opacity caused by the total solar eclipse that was recently fully visible in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. Far from perceiving it as darkness, the artist is interested in that dim light in which silhouettes and other textures come to life despite the brightness and solar glare.
As a type of threshold, his work invites us to enter a space where we can imagine another dimension, dedicated to daydreaming and the stars. After Darkness, from 2024, revisits this aspect that has become evident in his work since the 2000s. The sculpture resembles a fountain as a construction of abundance and desire, which like water, offers us life. It is a tribute to all that can inspire us, where we can gain knowledge and will to move forward.
