Square Root
The traditional indigenous clothing in Mexico is made from squares and rectangles, using folds, creases, and seams that can achieve any other geometric figure. This endemic method, Carla Fernández calls Square Root because it uses the roots of Mexico and the characteristic square of these garments.
Throughout this workshop, the attendees had the opportunity to learn this fashion and tailoring system to create their own garment at full size. Additionally, Carla Fernández shared the working methodology she uses to develop new products with Mexican indigenous communities.
